Wow, what grace from MTN. Hope these techical errors recur. Are you 7.2 or 3.6, what speeds were you acquiring?

Cool, if that's the case, then HTTP must have gone over 400kbps. Imagine 1GB for R1.

so who wants to know how i downloaded 46GB on the mtn 24hr bolt on bundle? watch this space!

So this was added to a contract?

If it wasn't done on prepaid, then MTN's creative accounting department might bill you in 3 or 4 months time.

Hi also download 5.3 gB for 3 days it did not cut met

Friend of mine said something similiar. He has a prepaid sim for his internet. Paid the R50, managed to download well over 4GB. Even after the initial 150mb he was still running at a good 3Mbps.

But don't you pay for the time that you are on the cell.. per 30 sec unit if you are using your cell to access the internet? So what you win on the merry-go-round is lost on the round-about.

no you don't - 50 bucks all inclusive for around 1.2GB or more - you just gotta queue up those downloads and let it chug along.

Avoid R50 like plague

Gave it a second try. Speed before was 2Mbps

Activated

Speed less than 1Mbps

Downloaded 70MB of an 800 MB OS update. Disconnect. On reconnect, throttled. And download started at 0 again.

Called MTN. they said I had used 170!!!!!!!
I am not an IDIOT. I have been using Mac OS since 1994 and know the system backwards. Little Snitch goes one further to tell me what is using my network so no surprises there! It was only my download of only 70MB that was reset.

Two hours later and STILL no resolution from MTN....:mad::mad:

What are you talking about? Why would 170MB be a problem? Moar details please.

Has anyone on MTN been having slow download speeds (I'm talking 14kBps or approx 110kbps) lately. I'm in PTA east and have this problem as does a friend in Fourways.

Used R50 bolt for the first time afternoon on Wed 26th of May. It worked well at first. Had download speed of 151kBps until I hit the 120MB soft cap. Was thottled to 120kbps and that was fine until about 11pm when the line went dead. Couldnt get it to work so cancelled the balance of the bundle after downloading something like 520MB.

Switched back to conventional bundles @ 20 cents/meg and its been hell ever since.

Call MTN and I get stupid stories about "resetting my line" or that speeds are "dependent on the network in the area".

Suggestions anyone?
