So I have month to month 50+50 package. A while ago I changed from debit order to normal deposits. Tonight my sim card didn't connect. The call centre told me that I owe them still about R500 because I used my R500 overuse limit. I was never aware of R500 airtime/oob limit on these capped accounts. I pay them R699 like clockwork. They told me they will investigate. Meanwhile my sim card is not connecting.

I believe a R500, spend limit is standard but TM will always tell you that you're OOB, unless you changed that?

Had the same issue with Telkom, I thought it was airtime bundled with my 20+20. Used it up, sent the wife airtime and I bought extra bundles with it. Next thing I get billed, luckily I had proof that I requested that my spend limit be R1 "since you can't make it R0". Got refunded.

This was never explained to me at the product sale in-store (Fourways), or when I switched payment methods. I also have the product for 6 months now and this is the first time I get billed these charges, even though I have hit the cap a few hours ahead of the new month, a couple of times. When in the past I hit the cap the sim card simply doesn't connect.

If I had this overuse limit, I would have been billed it on month one, but I haven't, so they tacked this on somewhere in the last 2 months.

Would have done the same if I knew about the OOB limit. Was never told this. My girlfriend had the same issue with Vodacom 5 years ago, where she had R50 overuse limit, she got billed R360, when we queried it it was because her 24 month contract expired and was then "new" month to month contract. They gave us free data as an apology. I don't care about free data now with Telkom, I just want access to the 15GB I have left on my cap and paid for already.

Typing this while on the line with them. 10 minutes of conversation 45min of hold music in between....

Oh this is rich. They told me they will "investigate" and that would take 7 days. Meanwhile what is left of my cap will expire and I am sitting without Internet on a connection I already paid for. I need that connection, it is my primary connection.

It took like 2.5 hours on the line to get to a manager to escalate it so I can access my paid for data today or tomorrow (at least). He gave me an email address, which I triple checked, including phonetically (Alpha, Bravo etc), it bounced back, no such address exists.

Grrrrrrrrrr.....
