Just a big show.

Only 10% of the products scheduled for demolition were destroyed on the day, with the balance to be disposed of dissapearing over a period of three weeks.

Illegal brake pads.

Didn't even know we had laws that a brake pad need to conform to.

What is the world coming to when you can't buy dodgy imported Chinese brake pads.

The destruction process was carried out with a crushing baler, hammering, cutting, chemical processing, dumping into landfill sites, and recycling where possible.
Recycling usually works by destroying things first.

Who tested this?
Every OEM has very strict manufacturing protocols. In addition to SABS, toyota has TS16949, Ford has Q1 etc... etc... Proper aftermarket (and OEM) suppliers follow similar protocols, be it Ferodo, Brembo, Willwood etc...

If we get some random container with a collection of knockoffs, unknown brands etc... it has safety critical implications. I mean the k@k people put on their cars blows my mind.
