Rain launches R1 Black Friday deal

Rain kicked off its R1 Black Friday deal on 18 November 2022, allowing new customers to join its network for R1 and get a free three-month speed upgrade.

The deal will run until 30 November 2022, and existing customers will also benefit from the special, with those on the 5G Basic plan being upgraded to Rain's 5G Standard package.

Was about to ask how the Rain service is these days. Above replies kinda sums things up.

Now an already congested network is going to get worse as people sign up for this 'deal'

Depends on your coverage and congestion.

Me and the in laws are quite happy with rain. I get 80Mbps and they get above 500Mbps at times. So it really depens where you are and how many other people are connected.

Hate them if you want, the R999 uncapped premium delivers without any T & C's...

Well I can confirm that the Premium is unshaped, uncapped and unthrottled...

I think the issue with rain is that it'll be good until your tower has too many people on it.. which is what causes the congestion issues.
I was on rain 4G back when it launched and got 100/100 for like 6 months, then it just.. got awful, like 5-6Mbps barely.

Hopefully you won't get congested though

Hi

So I'm currently with supersonic's R499 lte deal in Durban North and was curious on how will this perform against it as I've been wanting to go the 5G route for better upload speeds.

Unfortunately their call back system is atrocious and still haven't contacted me at all just to answer the simple question on if signal and speed is subpar can I just cancel it within the 7 days.
