Rain call centre staff in major dispute with outsourcing company

Rain customer support staff who have been outsourced to Wipro have lodged a wide-ranging labour dispute against their employer that is being heard by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).

Rain outsourced its call centre operations to Wipro on 1 November 2022. Wipro is a New York Stock Exchange-listed company headquartered in Bangalore, India.

Rain is a rubbish company in all facets. If they fail as a network I won't miss nor shed a tear.

Ah, service will surely improve now. I love talking to nameless service agents who are packed by hundreds into cubicled rooms, know nothing about the product and read off a script, and are paid slave wages.

Oh wait, that was probably the case already.

Was waiting for this to happen..... Stupidest move from rain ever

Rain's alleged poor customer support asside...

I guess the other option was to close the call centre. Surely they are fortunate that they still have jobs?

What's with the entitlement in South Africa. Will they rather want to sit at home and join the unemployment statistics.
