According to the screenshot your spend limit is not activated. So that amount must be for the peak time data you used plus the R250 deal. Just wait for their reply but don't expect positive news

And Rains Data is always on its one duty to turn it off before peak hours kick off. he probably didnt switch it off.

What was the reason and purpose for then selecting the peak data on first signup? They made a mistake and treating me as the client unprofessionalaly. I wont make a big fuss like this for no reason.

Ye , that's a big one hey.

Problem is between 6-11pm daily if you downloaded stuff and no-spend-limit. Then it's chargable as per their R50 per gig story.

I limited mine to 350 (so r250 for uncapped. + 2gig of data)

I limited mine to R250 - uncapped only - not taking any chances. Will increase should the need ever arise otherwise rain fixed LTE will fix that evening 6pm - 11pm void.

I wonder however if they will ever introduce an all day uncapped option for say 400 - 500 bucks - Will save them alot of admin and there will be an influx of users should the price point hit a sweet spot between affordability and utility.

Impossible/unsustainable - will never happen. Network would fall over in the evening

I have 4x Telkom LTE Uncapped sites. All 4 grind from 6pm to midnight. Rain would suffer the same

We can all thank the 100's of GB dl'ers and abusers for that state of affairs.
I dont think so. Watching Netflix on a few devices is not called "abuse" its called paying for what the rest of the world call "internet" the abusers are most ISP is SA.

I call 640 GB in 30 days abuse of the highest order.
We not in "the rest of the world".
We're at the tip of Africa within a vast country with limited bandwidth and resources.
Or do you only care about yourself, your needs/desires/demands?
Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

Oh and couph up, maybe next time you'll be a little more circumspect with your usage.
I doubt it though...

Yeah people. I don't know. It is 2018. There is no such thing as too much data. One persons usage will differ from another. It all depends on your "hardware". If you have a 4K TV and LTE-A. If you stream youtube it will try to do 4K as often as possible by your connection.

People playing games (will buy one or 3 games a month) now being 10-30gig a game now.. is nothing new.
Gamers stream Twitch in 1080p or 4K which is data hoggers too. (nothing new there)

Then we are not even talking of your entertainment of Streaming Spotify in High-quality (on echo dot or home pc or IPAD) and things like Showmax , Netflix or DSTV Now to multiple devices.

100gig.. 200gig..300gig <-- that is still nothing if you have only one or two of the devices above.

Where did you buy the timer from ? Or is it one of those smart plugs?

I really don't know what half of the people are even going on about here? There is no need for timers and routers to be off during peak time and silly things like that. The spend limit works and accurately so. 2 simcards on 2 different profiles and on both profiles the simcards got capped exactly as expected when I hit the set spend limit.

OP for some reason had his spend limit disabled and used a fair bit of data during peak time to have the R2450 bill. Whether the limit was set on signup or not is something @OP will know and if it was set then for some reason it failed to set and that is an issue Rain should sort out.

If your spend limit is set correctly you won't get any bill shocks. You can regulate it and the usage is accurate. It might take some time to reflect the correct usage but it does update and correctly too. No timer set for me and I set it to allow only 1GB peak usage. When I reached that peak usage limit as set with the Spend limit every day since exactly 6pm on the dot my connection gets capped. It stays in a B618 router which is ALWAYS on and connected.

Read in ghostly voice:

"If you used it, they will charge"

"If you claim you didn't, they won't care"
