I would think there should be a price difference being the unit has been manufactured to with stand outdoor conditions. Was just thinking why don't they give the outdoor unit as an option. Because I received my unit on Tuesday and was getting about 185/15 and I am about 900m from the tower.Nope. Might have been an extreme case though. They definitely did some testing before deciding to put up the outdoor unit. I'm in their coverage area so I guess they went the extra mile to get me up and running.
Great service considering I'm under no contractual obligation at this stage other than the month to month subs. Is there a difference in price between the two modems you think?
They should be able to help. I get no issues in heavy storms so not sure what the issue there could beAnd last night during the rain and after wards was struggling to get above 100Mbs had to almost put it outside the window to get it above 100Mbs and the speeds were not stable at all. Will be doing some tests tonight and troubleshoot with Rain to see if we can better the speeds

Here are my stats:
5G SINR 9dB
5G NRDLMCSNRmcsDownCarrier1Code0:2 NRmcsDownCarrier1Code1:0
Just feel I should be getting way more?
hmmmm tower perhaps or maybe a setting of sorts on there side?By the looks of those stats signal is not your issue.
My stats on a good day is
5G SINR 7dB
Now I'm connecting to a 5G tower ~1.3KM away because of my closest one being hit by lightning and offline since yesterday
5G SINR 3dB
Get around 100-130Mbps

I got lucky then, I wasn’t even in coverage (there is coverage 2km from me) yet i rarely get under 550mbps.
here are my stats (my 5g sinr sometimes goes as high as 28db)
max speed I’ve had is 634mbps, but most of my speed tests I exit before upload starts so they don’t get saved.
Very good signal stats. If you are not covered on the map there is definitely a tower close to you with those signal stats. 5G RSRP -72dBm. That is like 500m-600m or so max from the 5G tower.
Thank you will do!Could be. No way in hell there is congestion yet there just isn't enough people on it yet especially with the R3250 once off fee.
I would suggest giving them a call and trouble shoot. Ask for a technician or of they can log a ticket for the technician to check if the tower bandwidth is an issue.
081 610 1000 Option 2 for 5G
yeah I think their map missed that tower or something, I just hope we get 100mbps at least 2 years down the line. Remember how happy we were with telkom lte at the start?
Yeah but it's a bit different hey. Not a lot of 5G devices. This is 5G home so no mobile phones unless you pay the R1000 a month fee but then it doesn't work on 4G so not ideal. R3250 once off fee. Then there is the biggest difference. Spectrum. Rain has ~140MHz vs Telkom 40MHz on band 40 LTE and like 15MHz on the other.
