When did you join? The first 7 days are free 24/7 unlimited internet and then after that your R250 uncapped kicks ins so they will only start charging you from that day. So it's likely the pro rata amount. If your spend limit is set right don't stress you won't go over R250. So the month you joined you get a few gigs in peak time because of the pro rata uncapped price.

No, setting ONLY a spend limit of R250 after your unlimited finishes means you will be charged at 5c/MB for data used anytime.

Yes a spend limit of 250 is uncapped between 11pm-6pm

Please see the image below and my reply above. What he has done is set a R250 limit to use data anytime.

The toggle for unlimited off peak must be selected.

Spend limit can only be R250 and higher, that is correct for the unlimited off peak, he will only be able to go R1 usage in the peak time.

Like Yuu metioned, After setting your spend limit you need to toggle the Unlimited Off peak option to on.

Also this unlimited data will only be available to you from the beginning of the next month.

No his unlimited off peak is available after his 15 day uncapped, he will only be charged pro rata. So he should with all limits set in place have off peak uncapped immediately after his uncapped promotional period ran out.

@davyb Pretty sure there is no pro-rata on rain. He should contact support and see what they say.

Do it quick because tomorrow their BF deal is gonna make getting support a struggle :D. R1 delivery fee and R50 sim fee will bring 100s if more more people onboard. After orders placed, the "when is my order arriving" threads will start.:p

My unlimited off peak is turned on. My spend limit is on & set to R250.

It's after 6pm & it's still Raining. I'm scared. Of being billed more than R250.

Am I missing something?

If your limit is set, then it won't let it rain past that, don't worry ;)

This happened to me also but this is how they deal with the pro-rata problem. So the difference in cost is getting access to 18-23:00 period

I think I've got it.

My unlimited data days ended 17/11. This is the first billed month (pro rata). Spend limit is on R250.

Rain are scoring from me since I thought the unlimited off peak (19 hours) would be charged pro rata after 17/11 & I would not be billed a full month of unlimited off peak (R250). And that miraculously, that there would be no peak hours data connection.

What's happened now, is that I will be continued to be billed for peak use until spend limit (R250) is reached. And even though I'm not using a full month of unlimited off peak, I will continue to be billed for peak use until spend limit has been reached.

Lesson:
During your first month of use after free unlimited data days have ended, the spend limit needs to be set lower than the R250 required for a full month of unlimited off peak. This is also why the billing system allows for the dashboard to have a spend limit of less than R250 during first month, when there is not a full month of unlimited off peak, due to free unlimited data days at the start of service.

Then, during the next calendar month being the first full month of unlimited off peak, it is not possible to set the spend limit below R250 when unlimited data days has been enabled.

This may also be complete & utter rubbish I have just managed to come up with!

This raises a good point - is rain's billing cycle from the first to last day of the month?
