@davyb Pretty sure there is no pro-rata on rain. He should contact support and see what they say.

Do it quick because tomorrow their BF deal is gonna make getting support a struggle :D. R1 delivery fee and R50 sim fee will bring 100s if more more people onboard. After orders placed, the "when is my order arriving" threads will start.:p
They did charge me pro rata.

After there were network outages in some areas yesterday, let's keep an eye on 18:01 today to see if off peak may be extended.

Hi

Stumbled on this issue and then only realised I had one. Rain billing(especially R250 one)very suspicious...
What to do to check it out?

Perhaps you can start by making sense?

Which part of the message is challenging you? Sorry I'm new to this.

I think you mean you are seen that you are being debited R250 each month.
If so,log on to your Rain dashboard and check if you have unlimited off peak activated.
If you do not require this option anymore, switch it off andthey will stop charging you after this month.

Hi

Thank you kabusi for at least trying to at least give some "positive" type feedback compared to some other members on the site. This whole page and the previous one "thread" I believe it's called is about the RAIN billing process and people having issues with it/not completely feeling they agree or understand. Beyond this particular thread there is quite a few others dealing with much the same and more issues that relate to the process. To be more specific, I saw a post showing two separate bills from separate users that reflect the same usage and spike in what is it seems a slightly confusing manner of allocating peak/off-peak times. I have 3 RAIN sim cards and am finding it hard to reconcile the usage and specifically the usage during peak/off-peak times. I have contacted RAIN to ask for more detailed reports on these issues, some even specific days, but to no avail. That is why I asked if anyone knows of another means to check it out.
If there is any member barring the two with IQ's obviously far exceeding mine and the stratosphere, please feel free to add some useful input or information as opposed to the useless, low level and unwelcoming replies closer to the top of the page.

Have you compared your usage on your Rain Dashboard to what you are being billed for to what your device is reporting?
You may have to check on a regular basis until you can see a genuine spike that is unaccounted for but being billed.
The graphs on Rains website show peak and off peak usage and in my case are pretty accurate.
Sometimes the account info does not add up to the sum of the graphs but comes right after a few days.

Hi guys.

So with Telkom ADSL dying a slow death I'm looking at my options.
No fibre in my area so I have to go the LTE route.

I'm thinking of getting RAIN for off peak and maybe a 20+20 deal with router from axxess for the evenings (and score a free router).

So I want to get this right - When I sign up I chose the "unlimited off peak" option and set "peak gig limit" to 0GB.
This will ensure that I only get unlimited data from 11pm-6pm at a cost of R250 right?

Also, I don't know anyone in my area using RAIN so I'm not sure how good is their service in my area.
Is the first so-many-days free data still on offer so I can use this time to test if RAIN is suitable?
If so, can I cancel before this free period expires in order to avoid being billed R250 for the month or does one need to give 30 days notice?

I would order the sim and not opt for the R250 just yet. Test it and if it's suits you add the uncapped. (but as far as I know the uncapped will only kick in 1st of December if you do it during the month).

I don't think the free 7 days apply anymore.

I actually thought of this just after posting the above.
@rain_mobile also PM'd me suggesting the same and also answered all my questions
