@Jettafreak: The accuracy is not good. You can also look for the tower on Google Maps Street View if you do a virtual "drive" around this area looking for a mast etc. The maps are for Cell IDs 53278210 and 5199380 respectively.

The first map is for PLMN65538 and the second for PLMN65501 (Vodacom). Try to look on Google Maps Street View to find the tower more precisely.

UnwiredLabs is unable to locate this tower. Send a PM with your address and Cell ID to under_sky as he may be able to help you.

I think the biggest problem with cell phone tower locations is the the relevant information is not reaching the app developers, they are based in America. I drove around for 2 weeks with the app from Mozilla , one of the providers of locations, uploading my local towers information.

Don't know how ,where or when they process the data.

Google maps is a prime example of data updates, still showing street view from 2010, aerial view zoom is also not accurate.

@hood: Not sure if this helps much as the accuracy is not very high. Maybe you can take a virtual "drive" using Google Maps Street View up and down Malibongwe and the N14 to see if you can find the tower. It should be within 2.3km of the locations shown on the maps. Otherwise check out Post #360 in this thread and ask him if he can assist.

@jbroo: Here are the results from UnwiredLabs using PLMN 65538, 65519, 65501 (Vodacom). The accuracy is around 1.5km. Try to locate the tower more accurately by "driving" up and down the nearby roads using Google Maps Street View and see if you can find it.

Thank you! I see that the new optimise function in the rain dashboard now makes this a whole lot easier.

Could anyone give me the locations of the following 2 Cell ID's. I'm a little worried because the ID's don't look like all the other ID's in this thread.

I've tried the Unwiredlabs site, and always no matches found. Tried MNC of 1, 3, 10, 19 & 38.

In some cases Unwiredlabs does not seem to be able to provide any information regarding the tower. I must say that it did locate my closest MTN tower within a few hundred metres.

With switch to 5G SA CELLID also changed, although RAIN optimizer still says I'm connected to same NSA tower. Please can I get location for 13283442739.
