President Cyril Ramaphosa will head back to South Africa immediately after Queen Elizabeth II's funeral to deal with the load shedding crisis.

"The President will no longer be travelling to New York from London. Instead, he will head home to deal with current Stage 6 load shedding," Presidency spokesperson Vincent Ngwenya said.

Ramaphosa held a virtual meeting on Sunday with the "relevant" government ministers and officials for information on why so many units tripped and what could be done immediately to resolve the situation.

Instead, he will head home to deal with current Stage 6 load shedding,

And do what exactly?

Even while he was here nothing changed.

Big announcements with no implementation is all we have so far.

Old Gwede has no interest changing the current status quo and upsetting the unions. At best he'll keep pushing for the power ship his wife is involved with.

Even if he's somehow bypassed new builds aren't completed over night.

Interesting move because there’s a very big and important UN meeting he’s supposed to be at. Why not manage the crisis from there? He’s not coming to do manual work. And he could address the nation through video.
