I met someone who was a manager at Eskom who said they were stopped from maintaining for 12 years. The power stations were driven hard and the instruction was to keep the lights on. No wonder today, we’re reaping the whirlwind because a number of errors were committed,” he said.

“Eskom woes and problems didn’t start even in 2014, but way earlier and we will need to go back seven years or more.”

And who instructed them? Oh right, the ANC. Why can't his party take responsibility and simply say: "we broke them".

Yes fcknit. You were appointed to fix the problem.

“2014 when he was appointed by President Jacob Zuma to lead a “war room” to address electricity challenges facing the country.”

Clearly you failed and still have no clue.

Yes, it is easy to blame the president ......

when he admits it himself
“Everyone was trying to put their fingers in trying to resolve the problems. I even suggested that Brian Molefe should be appointed as CEO because I did believe that his capabilities would help address the challenges. But, little did I know he was entangled in all the number of things.”

when he says k@k like this way back in 2015
With regards to Eskom, the Deputy President said that “valuable work has been done to stabilise Eskom and improve its financial position. Governance and leadership challenges are being addressed”.

when the ANC says stuff like this, and then when times up ..... try to push the blame

when CR17 says during SONA 2019
“Eskom has made much progress in implementing its nine-point plan, ensuring better maintenance of its general fleet, reducing costs and ensuring adequate reserves of coal.”
then we are hit with

Ramaphosa says Eskom manager told him they were stopped from doing maintenance for 12 years

It’s very easy to blame the President and government for load-shedding

Not only is it easy, it's the obvious truth. The ANC (the government) and all officials in that party, both past and present, are directly responsible for the current state of Eskom, all the SOEs, the economy and the country as a whole.

Their ideology of hoodwinking and smokescreening the public while robbing them blind is the root cause.

It's a fact that government and president(s) are to blame for load shedding.

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd has the Government of the Republic of South Africa as its sole shareholder, with the shareholder representative being the Minister of Public Enterprises. As a public entity, it is governed by the provisions of the Public Finance Management Act 1 of 1999 (PFMA).

Ja, Ramapoephol.

He never contradicted himself, the 2 statements are entirely seperate and you can't reference them, cos context you know.

Nobody were told to stop maintenance. They probably did not know how to maintain the infrastructure. Eskom cannot be saved. AA and BEE killed it. South Africa needs to come to terms with the fact that it will never have the energy structure it had before 1994. Even under Ramaphosa nothing will be getting better as he is still fixed on AA and BEE.
