You need all the skills and capabilities and because these are machines; it’s like a car, they can’t run for years without being serviced. Because if you do that, it will break down.”

In addition, when the decision was finally taken to build new power stations, the experienced Eskom staffers had left after they were told that none would be built, he added.

Uhm, as I recall you lot got rid of the 'experienced staffers'.

How'd that work out for you?

Nobody were told to stop maintenance. They probably did not know how to maintain the infrastructure. Eskom cannot be saved. AA and BEE killed it. South Africa needs to come to terms with the fact that it will never have the energy structure it had before 1994. Even under Ramaphosa nothing will be getting better as he is still fixed on AA and BEE.
I disagree. They were definitely told prior to the Soccer World Cup in 2010 to "keep the lights on", something which Molefe continued throughout his tenure.

They probably did not know how to maintain the infrastructure.
They did, they were told by the whiteys (those few that were left at the time). But as we all know, whiteys are insignificant, plus maintenance / looking after things simply isn't part of the African culture. Pretty sad.

This I agree with, it's part of a culture of getting something for absolutely nothing, which continues today, and which Ramaphosa insists needs to be accelerated, he wants more of it.

It's very easy to blame the President and government for load-shedding — Ramaphosa

President Cyril Ramaphosa has assured South Africans that he is confident that issues at Eskom, which has been rolling out load shedding due to power plant breakdowns, will be resolved.

The President was briefing the media on Thursday in London on the outcomes of his State Visit to the United Kingdom.
The dictionary should be re-written to explain the word INCOMPETANCE, because somehow people understand INCOMPETANCE as "apartheid" because as soon as anything happens or fails due to INCOMPETANCE, They say its "apartheids" fault....and this INCOMPETANCE will still be with us for DECADES to come and thus "apartheid" will remain forever...

As long as there is incompetance apartheid will be blamed

Commies have to always lie. The very principle of communism is against human nature. Communist leaders have to lie because they want to protect their elite club. In communism everything is a lie, and this is why you will find the commies lying even though they don`t have a motive for lying. They will lie for a reason and just in case.

The truth is the enemy of the ANC.

Yes this is a lie: "Ramaphosa says Eskom manager told him they were stopped from doing maintenance for 12 years"

The truth: ""Ramaphosa/ANC instructed Eskom managers to stop doing maintenance for 12 years"

Modern Very High Level Corruption, poorly understood:
"....Stop doing maintanance..." was ONE of the SYMPTOMS(One of many) visible to all under your nose since 1992+ the World over. It was a silent type of Narrative created and converted to a TREND that was followed by Boardrooms, and today we can see the results not just in SA. Doing away with stockage of parts, giving it rediclous values was another, so over time maintanace just slowly start to run out of parts availability, what happened to parts is a mistery of sorts, it was a nightmare for people that has to fix problems and was proud doing so.
-The "Money saved" in short term which became long term were skilfully CHANNELLED.
The real corruption is abstract in nature, and NOT like all the old previous forms, this goes through the books it seems well oiled..

The beauty of this Modern Corruption is it over TIME leaves SYMPTOMS thats clearly visible in societies as less and less money circulates through the citizens. Its also a HUGE waster of RESOURCES in the processes, and thats a huge concern because Resources are linked undelyably to Money(Abstract-Earth-Nature-Resources-Money-Population Numbers-Per Area, Per Country, Per Continent, Per Earth).
-Its poorly understood. It destroys monetary systems exponentially over time as it eats into itself.
-We don't think like this normally, its a 1st in the World 1992+......

It's even easier to tell the country every few months that he is extremely confident the problem is going to be resolved shortly.
