What is of concern is that Ramaphosa is the Chairman of MTN, which begs the question whether there may be another, even bigger, monopoly in the making if MTN buys Telkom. Ramaphosa will then control both SAT3 and SEACOM...not good. So while Neotel may land the cable based on open access principles, the actual cable bandwidth pricing may be a different story altogether…

piffle - how about Squirrel becomes el presidente creating another even bigger (govt) monopoly.......

cannot at this stage see the MTN telkom thing happening although i can confirm that a bid was definitely made & that will definitely be opposed by Neotel & voda

Ah, so here's a conspiracy theory. The new restrictions laid down by the Department of Cockups are all just a ploy to protect Cyril's enterprise. Nice to have friends in high places, eh?

heh now it makes sense ;) but does sat-3 qualify under the new restrictions. I'd lmao if come november they have to stop using sat-3 cause it don't qualify
