Ramaphosa welcomes lawsuits over lockdown

President Cyril Ramaphosa has addressed a number of legal challenges brought against the government's lockdown regulations, stating that the government will always welcome criticism and acknowledge the rights of citizens to challenge its regulations in court.

"Since the start of this crisis, a number of people have exercised their right to approach the courts," Ramaphosa said.

Certain ministers definitely don't welcome criticism. That was quite clear in their we don't have to explain ourselves and how dare you question our decision attitudes.

“We want all South Africans to be part of this national effort. The voices of ordinary citizens must continue to be heard at a time as critical as this,” he said.

Oh really - Let's revisit the cigarette ban u-turn fiasco shall we? So the 400000 plus signature petition was heard was it? I'm not a smoker but unfortunately live with 2 of these whiney people. Has anyone considered what non smokers that live with smokers have to go through? Besides the point but how can this inept government not realise that they are losing millions in tax revenue, have allowed illicit black market trade to flourish. Short sighted fools with zero critical thinking abilities.

What is wrong with SA leaders? Working with a plan to destroy SA and go full blown dictatorship?

You have nothing to fear, those guys are so incompetent, even their dictatorship would be a chaotic mess, you can just get a group of friends and you pull a coup in the afternoon.

And then chuck it at who ever is running the place at that point in time, ideally a head-shot.

The worrisome idea that something more sinister is afoot, is definitely gaining traction among citizens. Considering that the majority of the current "command structure" received their training from soviet entities, and Ramapopo is an expert frog-boiler, what was once an unthinkable and laughable scenario......

Of course he welcomes it, he doesn't have to foot the bill of it. Him and his goons can trample the rights of millions and not have to pay a cent for their actions.
And they probably see all opposition as further justification for their actions.
