Ramaphosa worse than Zuma for economic growth

The growth numbers are a bit simplistic. Sometimes the whole world is in a big bull market and growth is almost free due to high global demand for goods, resources, and services. Other times the world economy cools down like it did in 2008 with the financial crisis and later for Covid. Just saying well this president got this % growth is rather pointless unless it is compared to what a group of our peers did for the same period. I would rather know how they performed relative to other emerging market countries and on average how much they trailed, matched, or beat those numbers.

Mbeki - Okay.
Zuma - Actively destroyed the country.
Ramaphosa - Hasn't really done anything. Not as bad as Zuma but just didn't do anything of note to try and make it better. Kind of just stepped over Zuma's mess instead of picking it up.
I would say Mbeki was more than okay, he was actually decent.

Ramaphosa is terrible because he is just a weak and spineless person. Imagine having that as a president!

The less said about Zuma the better.

I think we can agree that during Zuma's stint - SA was growing well below the rest of the world - and now Rama has to deal with that hangover as well as Covid.

Mbeki was the racist , lying, incompetent piece of shlit who started cadre deployment, BEE theft, and AA incompetence.
Also sold our oil reserves , fcked up our healthcare system especially wrt to AIDS, destroyed our military the arms.deal the highlight, did no maintenance of infrastructure, ignored warnings about needing to maintain Eskom, antagonised the west.

Just some of his achievements.

I do think Rama didn't really put any effort into it. He just signed more BEE laws than anything else...

The Arms Deal started under Mandela and his foundation received payments through it. I don't think you pin that on one single person, that was just an ANC feeding scheme across the board. Just about everybody had their fill.

Eskom is certainly his biggest criticism. The Aids fiasco is up there as well.

Cadre deployment, BEE, AA, that was and is ANC policy. Not just one person. My uncle worked for the precursor to the JRA in the 90s and the deployment and forced transformation stuff started under Mandela already. At the time his manager was ''encouraged'' to take early retirement and replaced by a person who had the right look (if you catch my drift). His former manager had to come back as a consultant charging consultant rates to essentially do the job of the guy who replaced him.

Mandela said that Mbeki was running the country as deputy president whilst he was president, Mandela was just the figurehead.
That was quite well known if you were around back then.

Mandela had nothing to do with the arms deal

It would be one of Mbeki’s first actions as the second president of the new democratic order, if not the first. Former head of state Nelson Mandela had given Mbeki, as deputy president, the responsibility of overseeing the purchase of arms. Mbeki would go on to chair the Cabinet subcommittee that presided over nearly every controversial decision related to pricing, and the selection of the weaponry.

How would that be any better?

So he sat back and watched someone else get up to no good. Wouldn't that be an indictment of him as a leader?

Refer to my original post. He was a lying, incompetent, POS.

Its not a person, Its anything that's got to do with the ANC is corrupt to the core.
The anc is like the mighty Baobab tree. The look big from the outside but rotten and hollow on the inside.
At some point they get so big that they just collapse.

If my manager tasks me with something and I piss around/do something unethical, they won't be held accountable for my actions?

You are the fvcking president with the right to question, review and access everything. If one of your underlings is pulling a fast one on you, well...

I dunno what you are on about now. I said my bit about Mbeki. Feel free to worship him and the ANC if you must.
If 30 years of them in power doesn't change your mind, then my posts won't either.
