Ramokgopa suspends top Eskom watchdog

Electricity and Energy Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa has suspended full-time member of the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa), Nhlanhla Gumede.

His suspension comes just months after he spoke out against the regulator and its approach to Eskom's electricity tariff hikes.

Typical reaction to someone talking or complaining against things that are wrong????

Usually If you exist in an organization you can't be going on public with your own views that are not consistent with the organization you are part of, imagine what chaos it would be if everyone went public and communicated their views?

That's why it's always better to be outside and then you can say whatever you want to say as an individual and no one will bother you.

Also true, but on other hand if no one spoke out about wrong things happening, what then?

What I don't get is that he was suspended by the minister for basically saying the same thing as the minister. They both seem to hold the exact same view.

I wouldn't want to talk about wrong or right things, because I am sure he will think he is right and Nersa and the Minister will also think they are right.

All I am saying is that at any time when you exist within an organization and what is right to you is not right to the organization, then it is clear that you can no longer coexist, the organization cannot leave you, you are the one who will have to leave the organization and go and be right somewhere else.

Tell that to Jacob Zuma.
