Please don't move this thread ; I've mentioned my issue in the correct thread - but this is to establish the issue in Randburg and if worth keeping or simply getting the Vodacom special.

Aside from issues all over spanning many kilometers - I'm concerned over wizdumbs quote. If this is true, I might as well get rid of this and I think maybe Cell C should let subscribers know Randburg is a dead area.

Could Cell C confirm that previous HSDPA towers an no longer HSDPA towers?

Location: Northcliff
Time of issue: last couple of days

Location: Randpark Ridge
Time of issue: From 14:00 today (bearing in mind I collected my 'speed'-stick at 13:00.

Location: Northgate (Johannesburg)
Time of issue: From 19:00 Thursday 21 April 2011

When going to Cell C in Northgate mall, they informed me that the whole of Randburg is out, and nothing is being done to fix it.

Location: Randburg Cresta area
Time of issue: About five days now

Location: Randpark Ridge
Time of issue: 10.22am

Location: Northriding, Randburg
Time of issue: whole day

You are still avoiding the issues in Randburg.

Location: Northcliff, JHB
Time of issue: since 10:00 on 2 April 2011

apparently coverage in bromhof, randburg has changed, as per the helpdesk my closest tower does not support HSDPA anymore...so my connection bounces from the HSDPA tower (when it gets congested) and it bounces to my closest tower which does not support HSDPA *argh*

Location: Randpark Ridge
Time of issue: I can't remember when it worked last

I got Whoosh back after 3 weeks ....

Well, not as before, but 1mbps is better than nothing. At least I can use my cap ;)

Tower ID 18553.

EDIT : ah. All of 10 minutes before swapping to 10423 and everything dying again

Same here. Just as I think it's back up, it dies again. Not sure which tower I connect to as I'm using a router, but have noticed that when I get an IP starting with 197.*.*.* it's more stable and faster than 40.*.*.*
and by fast I also mean +-1Mbps
Been up for about 1.5hrs now.
