it has a suspicious edge to it... they said they had weapons in the k district.... so the cops take them there... where a mob is waiting for them...

Signs of a failing judicial system.
And - Trevor says we have excess funds ... so why don't they use them to improve the situation ?

OK, so let me understand this... 2 ALLEGED RAPISTS? This is not justice! It is sick... So if Aunty Stinnie said Bruce was a druggy, to her neighbor it went on from there that he was a murderer and eventually the mob killed him because he is a rapists? I am sorry these animals are going back to the days when dinosaurs roamed earth and their was no civilization! Mob justice is wrong...

Four policemen were injured when they, too, where stoned y the mob.
They must then identify as many of the mob as possible. They should all be arrested and charged with murder.

Police are investigating a case of public violence.
I hope they catch the ringleaders and put them in jail where they belong.

It's wrong, but neccessary. The cops have to see that people have no confidence. (mis)Management needs to adress the issue of people's belief that the police do nothing.

The only problem I have is that it's likely to be like witch trials in the dark ages... how many people want to take on a *real* criminal?

Really? So rather have them commit a crime, go to court, get off on bail or (more likely) have the case struck from the role because dockets went "missing", commit a crime, go to court.... rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat................... ??

Kangaroo courts are actually one of the things the criminals still fear. Criminals do not fear the Police and fear the legal system even less. The sense of community is very strong in townships, especially rural townships, so it stands to reason that the community will resort to other measures when the official ones stop working.

Obviously criminals need to get organised. They have no reason to fear the mob. Maybe they should start carrying some explosives to detonate when the mob is close by. Kill two criminal birds with one bomb.

The people of Fourways don't have the collective cohesion and will, and they explain themselves with the leash of civilization. However, I guarantee that most of the same people would pull the trigger if their family was at risk.

We should be trying to get away from this third world rubbish rather than back-sliding deeper into it at the rate we are.

You obviously never read what I said. The frustration of a non-effective legal system is the reason why Kangaroo courts are even around. Sort out the legal system and you won't have the need for kangaroo courts.

I blame this on the ANC. Mbeki and his bunch of clowns should do the decent thing and resign. They are not fit to govern.
