That's the same thing I thought but I guess she must've been pretty traumatised and didn't want to see her father hurt.

Agreed. I don't think these people form a group and find someone to rape because they're horny. And makes the dad watch as well.

Something as simple as a wheel spoke puncturing the flesh till it hits bone, then being moved side to side till it grinds away the bone would be fitting. Your only problem would be deciding where to grind away next.
In the movie Thursday, a character descibes using a battery operated circular saw and a blow torch, slowly cutting away at the victim and cauterizing so they dont bleed to death. In another movie (sorry I cant remember the name), victims were tortured by having their bones broken and removed peice by peice over a series of days.
All very gruesome and what not, but this short story takes the cake. I can't find anything worse for which those barbarians deserve.

Justice = punishment?
The justice you're all talking about is obsolete and out-dated. Torture methods of old are great for theatrical value... in broad daylight in the "town square" to hopefully dissuading any other would-be perpetrator from committing a crime by the brutality of the whole spectacle.
The human body goes into shock almost immediately, when there is a significant injury. So all these forms of torture would hurt for a few seconds, and then sever the nerves that enable the victim of the torture to feel any pain.
But I suspect you're all suggesting these forms of torture because on some deep seeded level, you all believe that torture is an effective punishment and by causing extreme bodily injury on another human being that has committed a "barbaric" crime... you'll all feel vindicated.
but alas...
It's all BS.
Torture is not justice. (at least how society views justice)
It is a carnal instinct we all share... to hurt the wrongdoer so that we may teach them a lesson.
You want justice?
Rent a copy of "the Godfather Part 1" and watch the opening scene with "Don Corleone and Bonasera"
That's fear... to fear the consequences of ones actions.
A means to an end.

been watching a lot of history of late?
that one sucks people tend to die of suffocation within 15min rather then fire and pain ;/ I prefer the Chinese water torture while pinching you with needles.
btw your body can only sustain a certain amount of pain before it locks out, torture is a bit of a illusion
