Just signed up aswell used vcpay aswell. Lets see how it is. Hope its better than simfy. MOST of the stuff on simfy is Not Available....... So that more than 16 or million tracks is BS on simfy

I don't follow what you're saying. First you say much of what is available on Simfy is not available on Rara, but then you say that Simfy is bs?

Where in the quoted post does he state how much of what is available on Simfy is not available on Rara...?

He merely states that:
He signed up for Rara using VCPAY.
He is now going to see how rara is.
He then states his hope that Rara will be better than simfy because ...
Quite a few tracks on simfy are just not available to SA (not playable).
He then calls BS on Simfy's claimed track count of ~16mil.

Seems easy enough for me.
 
Yes. Most of simfy tracks you can not play in SA. Not available cause of licensing. Simfy claims they have all these tracks but its simply not true cause its not available in SA.

Now I said I hope that rara's claim of 10 or so million tracks are actually true aka available to listen to.

Will give the trial a go. Love Spotify, but it's a real mission to renew the membership from SA. Tried Simfy, but the catalog is a lot smaller, the PC app isn't great, and worst of all, it doesn't always stream smoothly on a 4Mbit line. So, fingers crossed this turns out to be a better alternative.

Oddly enough I came across an album that had the license restriction and couldn't play any of the songs. I submitted a support ticket to Simfy, and a day later the album was available. But yeah, they need to sort out their licensing, and shouldn't show the tracks if you can't play them.
 
Unlike Simfy, I got this to work. Nice selection and entertainment for the family tonight. I understand paid spotify has better sound quality but then again I would buy the music if I really wanted high quality. Let me give some feedback after a month

Has anyone managed to get the iPhone or iPad app to play anything?

I signed up for the 7 day trial and it looks ok, but I cant get any of my mobile devices to work.

Hi Guys,

Simfy Africa here (yes really, we are writing from the Simfy Africa support team).

We have seen the various posts here and thanks for the feedback! Re: the point regarding the missing music – as we publicized on Twitter, etc. it was absolutely true that a few hundred thousand (admittedly popular tracks) were greyed out during most of September and a part of October and for this we apologize. The issue was unfortunately totally out of our hands and was due to one of the large aggregators not getting all their ducks in a row and hence forcing us to suspend some of the tracks while they sorted the issue. We left the tracks greyed out, rather than remove them, to avoid people who had downloaded them to offline having to re-download them when they came back up. For the past 10 days or so all the greyed out music is back along with a lot of new stuff and we assure you that there are genuinely well over 18 million tracks available today in SA.

If any of you have had the missing track experience, please email us your simfy username to [email protected] and we will reset your 14 day free trial – with no strings attached of course – so you can check all this out for yourself.
