You are correct, I too missed the L shaped press in the C pillar. So it could be a bastardised Mk1 made to look like an original Citi. I never knew about the Series II having the larger tail lights. Today I learned.

The hip side strips are also confusing as I don't recall MkI Golf's having the thin metal strip but I know CitiGolf's did as my '93 CitiGolf Sport had them. My '82 Golf GLS has one of the variations of the larger hip side strips as well as the lower door side strips and rocker panel chrome strip. There are a lot of variations of the MkI Golf besides the 'main' ones seen in Series I, Series II, Rabbit, Caribe, etc. as countries like SA ran out stock while introducing new models and a lot of MkI Golf's have been bastardised with CitiGolf parts, inside and out.

He earns JUST enough to be able to JUST afford this...

Hmmmm. Hope he doesn’t regret getting a Porsche without a sports exhaust. Seems like the type to buy a luxury car with halogens if Xenons/LEDs weren’t standard.

As someone who specd out a Porsche today, it's probably because it's not exactly cheap...

why even spec a porsche if its not going to have a proper exhaust. You paying big money to be noticed so do it right first time.

I get you, but it's a R50k option on the Macan S, which is what I was looking at. Porsche options are extensive and extensive. Ended up with just shy of R200k of options on the spec I want. Nuts.
