Rates increase among proposals to keep baboons out of Cape Town suburbs

This is fair. Capetonians are rich and need to pay more money. I say they need to triple rates in the area and keep it raising by at least 10% every year.

Yeah, no, sorry for the poor, but SA is now at a point where EVERYONE needs to contribute. No matter how much or how little. It is clear that few taxpayers that are left are not sufficiently carrying the costs to look after the country - let alone the poor along with it. Socialism failed dismally in SA. Yes, it may work in a rich country where the majority are employed, little tax burdens and low costs of living. In a country like SA, it always fails. Time for the poor to pull a rabbit out of the hat and do something to start contributing.

Residents and interested parties are requested to RSVP by Friday, 12 August 2022, by sending an email to WildCT@capetown.gov.za and to indicate which meeting(s) they will attend. A link to the meetings will be sent to all who have confirmed their attendance.
The meetings will be hosted online, on the following dates:
• Kommetjie: Tuesday, 16 August 2022 from 18:00 to 19:30
• Scarborough: Wednesday, 17 August 2022 from 18:00 to 19:30
• Constantia/Tokai: Tuesday, 23 August 2022 from 18:00 to 19:30
• Da Gama: Wednesday, 24 August 2022 from 18:00 to 19:30
• Simon’s Town: Tuesday, 30 August 2022 from 18:00 to 19:30

Meeting time/dates above. Remember to register though!

Notably missing some of the area's that also get regular baboon visits eg De Oude Weg and Capri.
