Router sometimes disconnects and reconnects. Router also restarts on its own sometimes even when I do a speed test on my router (Does not happen a lot).Another issue I have is yes there is no 5G coverage by me however here is everywhere 4G coverage and the router does switch to 4G but comparing my speed tests with the router and the two 4G sim cards for which one is in my phone and the other one in a mobile router, the router runs at 2-4Mb and the sim in my phone and mobile router runs more than 20Mb---almost 30mb. Now I asked them why and I said that, it's not fair as I am limited with both sims with 2GB data and can’t be using that for my uploads and download otherwise it will be finished with a few minutes. They rep**** to me that they using 3rd party for the 4G sims which I think is ridiculous because why the hell don't my 5G router when on 4G also run that speed and connect to their 3rd party. Rain is literally the ****piest network in THE WORLD but cheapest. I would so like to leave these pathetic and useless company and switch but there is no other network that gives two sims cards with data and talk time and SMSs with uncap router. So, in plain words, I am *****ed and stuck with them and all the assistance I received from them in these mentioned issues was useless. Also, now recently I have been having issues with their website as I am changing the password and it says successful but when trying to log in it tells me email or password is wrong. They should fix their entire company like everything.... employees, coverage, website, services etc.......

It sounds like you're experiencing several frustrating issues with your router and your mobile network provider. Let's break it down:

  1. Router Connectivity Problems: Your router sometimes disconnects and reconnects, and occasionally restarts on its own, even during speed tests. This inconsistency can be very frustrating, especially when you're trying to use the internet consistently.
  2. Speed Discrepancies on 4G: While your area doesn't have 5G coverage, the 4G coverage is available. However, when your router switches to 4G, the speed is much slower (2-4Mb) compared to the 4G speeds you get on your phone and another mobile router (20-30Mb). This difference in speed is significant and affects your ability to use the internet effectively, especially considering your data limitations.
  3. Provider Response: When you raised these concerns with your provider, they mentioned they use a third-party for the 4G sims, which you find unreasonable. You expected your router to achieve similar speeds as your phone and the other mobile router, especially since they're all on the same network.
  4. Rain Network Issues: You express frustration with Rain, your network provider, describing it as the "****piest network in THE WORLD" but also the cheapest. Despite the issues, you feel stuck with them because you haven't found another network that offers the same benefits (two SIM cards with data, talk time, SMS, and an uncapped router).
  5. Website Problems: On top of connectivity issues, you're experiencing problems with Rain's website, particularly when trying to change your password. Despite receiving assistance from them, you find their responses and support to be unhelpful.
Overall, you feel extremely frustrated with Rain's services, including their connectivity, customer support, and website functionality. Despite wanting to switch providers, you feel constrained by the lack of comparable alternatives in terms of benefits and offerings.

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?

The most alarming part for me is how the router took your perfectly crafted post regarding your dissatisfaction and corrupted it into the unintelligible mess above. Definitely seems like an issue.

@rain_mobile please help this man, for all our sakes and the sake of the English language.

Correct yes.

Yup I have done it a million times and moved the router on every inch of my home. I even tried hanging it from the roof inside my home .

The speed might be better if I place the router on top of the roof however I am unable to do that due to the Rain101 router not being waterproof.

I can make a plan to cover it completely so that it will be impossible to get wet and not to fall off the roof if there is strong winds, but the problem on this idea is that kwith rain falling and weather being cold , it might mess up the router because the condensation that forms like on a windows and the Rain101 router has a screen (Touch)

Swap it out with a router that has external antenna ports, then connect an antenna to it that can be mounted outdoors.

Alternatively, swap out your router for a Huawei Outdoor CPE 5G router. (Or a ZTE Outdoor CPE 5G router.)

I had signal issues with my Rain router.

Rain came out and swapped it under warranty. However, they swapped it with a roof-mounted waterproof one which they installed and ran the cable for. Much better signal now. All free, took about 40 minutes in total.

Ask them if that's an option.

Good morning UrBaN963, I will definitely do that right away thank you so much for this advice.

Hi UrBaN963, so I spoke to rain about this solution you suggested and they approved it. They will send the outdoor router with the courier for the swap.

Unfortunately I will have to do the installation myself as the agent mentioned something about the area I am living in that they do not assist in installations.

But that's all ok as I know exactly how to install it.

Thanks you so much again. I would have never thought about enquiring about this.

I’m on this thread because I’ve tasked with getting home Wifi for the house and I’ve filtered down to rain and Supersonic. I’m close to the cell tower and my iphone is on 5G most of the time (MTN) but i dont know if that is just false because there is no 5G coverage on the Rain coverage map i am just outside 5G. I wanted Rain because there is not FUP throttling and its month to month but I am scared of the reviews just like yours. There’s so many mixed reviews. Do you think they would approve for this outdoor waterproof router solution as part of my order or they would want me to have issues first with the 101 router?

You're fired!

Have you not seen the Rain threads?

Have you not seen the Supersonic threads? (And news articles.)

Does Rain filter out any formatting or paragraphing to save bandwidth or what is going on here?

Or maybe the guys need to sell their keys on their keyboards to afford the data, something is fishy here

Perhaps ask them if you can test a unit and see what they say?

But also just get Fibre if you can. Or Fiber.

Do you enjoy pain and suffering?

Us Rain users are speshul man. Internet so fast we don't even have time to type properly.

Have to be honest though, I had far more issues with Vox Fiber than I have had with Rain and speeds are good enough> Downloaded a game on Steam yesterday, maxed out at 450mbps. That's good enough for a humble pleb like me.
