Hey everyone,

Anyone know if it is possible to get just the bottom part of the Raycore CPE?

When Vuma installed my fibre they nailed the tray to the wall and I'm pretty sure that any attempts to get it off the wall will probably damage / destroy it.

The Raycore devices are imported by the various fibre service providers from Melbye and I don't think there is a local supplier or distributor for Melbye products, so your best option is to likely phone Vuma and ask if they sell spares?

So I contacted my ISP with regard to moving the fibre router and they logged a ticket with Vumatel.

Vumatel just phoned me to book an appointment to move it... They charge you the FULL install fee again... R1750!!!

Fudge that!

Probably cheaper and easier to just run a decent quality lan cable from your CPE to where you want your router to be. Vumatel implemented a blanket policy about two weeks ago that charges for a complete re-install (R1725) should a) the client want to move the CPE, or b) a re-install be required due to a damaged fibre (IE, the dog ate my fibre).

It works perfectly where it is, however it's behind a desk in my office and I can't see when the lights are on or off...

I would've liked to have it in the same place as the wireless router, but yeah, I'm not paying for a whole new re-install just have it moved 2,5 metres...

I doubt it won't be long before that blanket policy is choking the life out of them...
