Has anyone purchased one of these RCT MP-T1000S inverter trolleys that includes a 100Ah battery?

And what is your experience of it for load shedding if you did?

The wholesale distributor is Rectron in RSA. But their technical support on this product appears lacking in our experience.
The manual is also not written in clear English but Chinglese.

One moment their product specialist says it must run on mode 01, (utility power priority with fallover to battery during load shedding- supposedly) , and then when an alarm starts sounding 4 times - they say you must switch to mode 03 - battery priority. Or swich it off and back on again, with no logical reason why you need to do that. They dont seem very sure about how to fix the alarm sounding issue just 1 day after its unpacked.

According to the manual the alarm means this.

Battery pack high voltage alarm = Buzzer alarm 4 times per second, indicate high voltage ?

One day old, been charging battery from mains in mode 01 for a day - now we get an alarm sounding for "battery high voltage"?

Surely any decent inverter should switch off charging once the battery is fully charged. There should never be a battery over charge ....especially not on a product that is 1 day old.

Exactly my thoughts...the inverter should have a smart charger that doesn't overcharge the battery.

Have it returned and changed out for the RCT MEGAPOWER 1KVA/800W PURE SINEWAVE UPS TROLLEY @ R 3199.95 incl and smack in a 100Ah battery (S120's) if you can get stock. Haven't had a problem with this trolley with previous customers.

Dont want a beeping UPS - want an inverter solution that doesn't beep all the time when on battery mode. Thats why we bought the more expensive inverter trolley model and NOT the cheaper UPS one. You can add solar panels to this model as well. Unlike some cheaper UPS type trollies. I doubt a UPS trolley is going to have solar charge controller built in.

Inverters that overcharge batteries (should not happen) can lead to a residential fire - so its going back to Rectron for a test, and swap out. These inverter units also have no user switchable Amp charge for the charger to switch externally - so the Amps at which it charges the battery (Supplied installed by Rectron with the unit) is internally regulated by the inverter's charger itself.

The battery high voltage warning alarm should not sound every time continuously when it auto switches to battery mode, as soon as mains fail during load shedding.

And this one hasn't even seen one load shedding cycle as yet - it failed on install test, after charging the battery up in mode 01 , and then disconnecting the main for a couple of seconds - to see if the inverter auto switches without issues. Day 1.

Well surprise!

... hopefully just a isolated faulty unit. And not a design fault.

A Rectron "product specialist" is now telling us (according to him) the device's battery high voltage warning alarm beeps all the time when the device switches to battery - yet no mention of that is made in the product brochure or the manual.

Why would any inverter system sound continuous alarms when simply switching to battery mode instead of utility power mode, which should be silent switchover - not a continuous alarm?

Imagine trying to watch a LED TV or working at a workstation during load shedding with this thing blaring 4 beeps, moment of silence , 4 beeps...moment of silence, 4 beeps all the time? Typically what very cheap inline standby UPS do till their batteries fut out after a few minutes.

Besides the fact that the manual calls continuous 4 beeps a battery high voltage warning alarm !?

Hmmm....?

Send it back for credit.

Problem solved.

Have a look on YouTube for settings on these units - check " Snadi" or search the unit/other video suggestions etc.

Didn't want to fiddle or modify a new unit that was just unpacked, and Rectron could not guarantee that using the mute button of the battery warning alarm, would also not mute all other alarms. You definitely don't want all alarms muted on such a device. So got it refunded.

Consider, if things go pear shaped and all alarms are muted - then it could cause issues with a building insurance claim.

Nice unit otherwise, just a pity about that alarm when it runs off battery.

All good in the end. Bought a different brand that doesn't do this when running off the battery during load shedding. Problem solved that way.

So its probably one of these Snadi's rebranded? Who would have thought ;)

It does have some external resemblance to the Snadi model.

Just purchased one. No beeping.

Uses the standard ViewPower software, which is adequate for my needs.
Very interresting. Ours beeped as soon as it switched from mains to battery - on its 1st test.

Maybe your alarm setting was set to mute before delivery. It will show on the LCD screen - has a line through a speaker icon to indicate alarm mute.

Heya I came across this thread by searching for the user manual. Thank you for that! I was trying to figure out how the 4 different functions work. Any case I have had mine for a month now no problems working through load shedding every day thus far. So yours was definitely built on a Friday!

Mine was delivered yesterday. Couple of questions.

Straight out the box the green light keep flashing. Manual says this is overcharge protection. It doesn't seem like it's going away? Or should I leave it for longer?

Secondly, does the fan ever stop? Overcharge protection means the battery is at 100% but the fan is still going?

My plan was to leave this plugged in all the time into my changeover switch which powers lights etc. But if the fan is going to be running 24/7 not sure if I want to.

Do you keep yours plugged in? See my questions above - did you have same experience?

Please test - doyou also on their RCT T1000s and T2000s inverters (especially new unts – out of box) have 50-90Volts feedback on the main in especially during loadshedding. This physically shocked my client and will cause/lead to premature battery failure.
