Rdio music streaming service in SA

Mobile streaming is the same price as Simfy, how will they win me over?

They won't win me over cause the only payment option is credit card..... Simfy atleast charges you airtime so thats another handy option simfy got.

Perfect. Now I can sync to my phone for offline listening as well.

Edit: My bad, I didn't know Simfy can synch to devices as well.

Very nice. I've been using Spotify premium for a few months which has been good but using a credit-card proxy plus a paypal plus paying their fee was expensive.

It will definitly be worth switching if the mobile apps are any where near as good. Also having to sideload the spotify android app because its not in the South African play store was ... painful.

So many streaming services to choose from.

simfy.co.za
rdio.com
deezer.com
grooveshark.com - 100% free with some ads I think

Feel your pain bro - I'm doing all those things too :D

I've been using rdio (via proxy) for a couple of months. My free trial aching expired awhile ago but I'm still able to listen to stations and tracks. I'm not sure where the paid subscription is a benefit.

How do you survive in the modern world?

I'm paying simfy now R60 a month via the airtime method. So for the same price I need to switch to them but pay via credit card? There is no real benefit of switching. I'd just rather stay where I am.

Agreed. I have no complaints with the service so far. Tons better than the previous service I used.

I'd never be able to readjust to another service. Also the airtime is topup airtime of which I currently have R900 so not feeling a dent in my wallet.

Oh okay. It sounded like the credit card was the problem.

Quality? Bitrate? Which service is best or are they all basically the same, quality wise? Currently listening to ECR from Mthatha :)

EDIT: I see the date is 11/12/13

Do you know if this works with MTN Anytime Top Up contracts?

I've signed up for the trial using my mobile number, just not sure if it will come off the R350 I get each month or if it will be an extra charge on top of it?

What about shoutcast?
Adfree and I have been running it at my store for a couple of years now.
