So quick question. Does I-burst once you reach like 1 byte before your cap move you to 56K connection and exactly how slow is 56K?

They are supposed to move you onto a 64k connection once you reach your cap. The speed is not terrible once capped in my experience but it's obviously nowhere near uncapped speeds. You will certainly notice a difference in download speeds and also webpage loading times, especially if they have a lot of pics on them.

64k theoretically should be 8k faster than a 56k dial-up modem, if that helps...

Sorry, can't really be of much more help than that.

no... 64k theoretically should be "8k" not 8k faster. (64 / 8) 56k theoretically should be "7k". (56/8)... But ""theoretically"" never happens in the real world.

Iburst cap speed if fact regulary exceeds 64kb when loading pages and downloading from htttp or ftp. Thats been my experience anyway, but it jumps aroung a bit... usually like 7-10kb on downloads, not bad at all.
They dont neccesarily cap you as you hit your limit, but you wont get away with much more than 20-50mb over cap till you get throttled.

Are you saying that the statement that 64k should be 8k faster than 56k is not correct?

well as the guy used the same syntax between 56k, 64k and the 8k, he was being constant and thus correct. Pedantic I know.

I am gonna dodge the whole 64k/K etc and say that signal providing, next to dialup and adsl cap, iBurst is amazing. The sickest part is that inter-iBurst traffic is even faster, I get up to 50K in the local DC hub and another 7-10K to use on anything else. I don't even care about the full speed portion of iburst, I get capped on day one and enjoy 256k virtual leased line the rest of the month :D

The 64kbps capped speed is much better than crappy 56k modem speed, also it's 64k up and 64k down. I can play wow and bf2 after being capped. Once again it's all depends on your tower and location.

I gotta agree with Nab... The DC hub is amazing, and fast. What we need is more people sharing more stuff to make it totally amazing.
