Received an sms about being RICAd to Virgin Mobile

I just received an sms "Your SIM card was successfully RICAd. Your new Virgin Mobile number is 074xxxxxxx (my number). If your starter pack was printed with another number please ignore it."

I haven't done anything like that, or have any VM sims.

Could this just be a mistake, is my sim now RICAd under someone elses name? I called Telkom Mobile support and they said everything is fine but I'm still dubious about a sim swap or something..

Is your number originally from Virgin Mobile? If yes they might have recycled your number to a prepaid stater pack by mistake.

It just means some one else is using the same number on virgin mobile but all the routing is to your number.

I would suggest you send a message to Virgin Mobile on facebook. That lady is very good and she will have it sorted in no time. Since its on Virgin Mobile's side you might get better feedback and support from them than going via Telkom Mobile cause Telkom Mobile will just ask Virgin Mobile for help with the matter.
