So right off the bat off Cyril's speech my insurance company sent an email with the long list of exclusions from a "total electricity grid collapse" lol..

Seems the insurance industry really bought into his speech...

Not really Cyril's speech. It's the reinsurance that is making it a requirement so ALL insurance companies will have it effective 01/04/2023, some earlier. This has been coming since around November last year. But yea, it's a real possibility and the reason reinsurance companies are plugging the holes.

Is this the recession I estimate started around 2019?

Our downturn was realised in 2017, we just called it a lack of business confidence, but yes, the signs of a technical recession were there in 2019, but economists and other analysts are still up in the air of what a recession really means, what qualifies as a recession. Some even amend their laws to better navigate through a recession.

We are also seeing in the USA, the governing party refuses to acknowledge the signs of a recession, but has taken policy measures of mitigating a probable recession. This is done for several reasons, a load of which are political, but for the most part socio-economical. They don't want fear, it can cost them their governance and people may start to act recklessly. The moment people are in the mind that they can lose everything, they tend to make themselves as liquid as possible, and when some have that cash they also tend to spend it without realising savings.

Being a very layman here. Most nations are currently dealing with preventing a recession, some already being in a technical state. The last thing the world wants is a depression, which will ironically be a great reset, perspective and all that.

If the world goes into a recession or depression should I scoop up crypto and stocks at discounted prices?
