I have been involuntarily volunteered to stock up on AA, AAA, C & D batteries both single use and rechargeable for someone.

Now a few stupid questions:

This is a better charger.

Also, rechargables so lose their charge while laying on the shelf so they need to be topped off every couple of months, so keep that in mind. Recharhables usually last around 800 to 1000 cycles so there's a lot of lifespan on them.

This is a good video about which brand is best.

I personally use Amazon basics around the house and I'm happy with them.

store Apple used to have a charger with AA Batteries.....good batteries and value for money....AA only likely no longer carry though.
A lot to learn as not all batteries equal.....same with chargers.

They were Eneloops.

I use GP ReCyko batteries for my camera flashes. 2700mAh and they're slow dischargers which means I can leave them for a few months without worry.

100% fake those cheap Energisers. Same as Duracell. Huge problem for the manufacturers. An alarm importer who was using Duracells for their wireless detectors had to change to Energisers as 9 out of 10 units were returned under warranty

Looks real to me. Comes in the same pack.
Great fakes
No one here in the Helderberg shops at the beach there in Strand on weekends anymore
Fake batteries, fake razor blades, you name it.
There is even fake Loreal products, the stuff all looks legit but I doubt it is. I might be wrong but some friends that live here close by have had some bad deals over the years. I can't prove it though

100% fake, same story in stellenbosch

it's really not hart to make fakes, especially the branding.

They do the same with 16GB flash drives, looks like scandisk, then you get home and it's a 4GB or a dud.

My charger with build in health check only picked up two bad batteries (not even sure I got them there). Rest all works so far.

They don’t lose their charge sitting in the shelf.

Uniross Hybrio is similar.

Ideally get a good quality adapter for your charger's plug and plug directly into a wall socket.

I once put a charger into a multiplug and misjudged the amount of space around the socket. 1 to 2 seconds of poor contact on the charger pins and I smelled smoke. The charger no longer works.

IMO get an intelligent charger that can detect when batteries are full. The cheaper ones are timer based.

Some chargers can even test battery capacity.

Do you import the Amazon basic batteries to SA (I'm assuming you're in SA).

Aren't batteries an issue importing yourself?
Yeah I'm in KZN.

Not really an issue if they are standard AA or AAA etc. Your batteries that give you issues are notebook batteries and pouch cells.
