Recharged with R150, but didn't get 10GB WiFi?

I got my free 2 GB wifi when I reloaded with R50 last week.

Strange that you did not get your bonus.

Ok so Telkom just called me, and said the reason I didn't get the WiFi bundle, was because I didn't ask for it, and they loaded 2+1GB directly to my device.

They say I have to go back to the store, to request my WiFi bundle from the manager.

:wtf:

Do you seriously think I have time and money to do this?! Just give me my WiFi data, refund, or whatever, before you lose another customer!

Hi xera

As per our telephonic discussion, the R149 was loaded in a form of 2GB +1GB data and not in form of airtime and as a result we cannot process the refund. We would only be able to refund if this was in an instant where the airtime was loaded and the data wasn't received, but in your case the airtime wasn't loaded at all.

We have also advised that we have sent this to the Store for them to assist further. We will provide you with feedback once we receive one.

I have found that if I buy airtime and convert it to data I get extras, whereas if I load a data bundle I don't get free extras.

Is that not what happened here?

Hi 10i

That's exactly what happened. When loading the bundles directly there are no other benefits. You only receive the benefits when you load the airtime.

OK so I went to the store, and spoke to the manager. Had a bit of a heated discussion, but eventually he was able to help me get my WiFi data.

IMO, this is a horrible trap, be careful, don't let them send the airtime directly to your number! Enter and convert it yourself, otherwise you pay exactly the same price, yet get tricked out of 10GB WiFi.

Yes, always buy airtime and then convert it to a bundle yourself.

That way you get way more benefits :)

Thanks for the headsup guys. Fortunately I normaly buy airtime.

Wish I could utilise the "free" wifi I'm supposed to get though.

I bought R150 airtime last week but didn't get the 10 gig either.
