Recommend a phone - R6,000 or less

I reckon the POCO X6 Pro is actually better than the Remi note 13 Pro. It comes with Android 14 and HyperOS.

Yes, Bloatware is a problem...
Noticeably better or just on paper?
Xiaomi also has hyperOS,

The LTE variant is not the same as the 5G, lower SOC, not as good a camera, not as good performance, currently the A35 would be a better option by far.

i was talking about the 5G version that was linked - R7999 for the X6 pro 5G is a lot cheaper than the Redmi Note 12 pro+ 5G (512 GB) at R11999

i have seen the A35 - the specs are at least a thousand miles behind the Xiaomi's and Pocos - and even the A55 is way behind in specs (i am used to Xiaomi phones and i can make the software work for me - so im only interested in the hardware specs)

Don't confuse the LTE version of the Note 13 pro with the normal version, here is a comparison of the specs, the first one is the 5G 13 Pro, the middle one is the 4g/LTE version and the end is the A35

The LTE variant is miles behind the A35 and the 5G variant. For the price in SA it's a rip off of note the G99 Ultra is a 2 year old chip already

the opening poster wanted a phone at the R6k level - i was looking at more of a midranger so you will notice i said Note 13 pro+ 5G - very different to what you are talking about

Not before you edited it ;-) I replied to your thread.

Probably not a big difference.

X6 pro vs A35? opening poster said he wanted it for gaming hence you need to look at the Antutu and Geekbench and 3dmark benchmark results - the X6 pro is just a very slight little behind the Iphone 15 pro on those and more than 100% higher than those Samsungs

Nope:

I don't do gaming or take many photos (shows my age, eh?).

The X6 pro or A55 would definitely be a better options for gaming.

Redmi Note series, as of posting the latest is the note 13, I still have my note 12. Excellent device for the price. packed with features, decent camera, IR blaster.

Which note 13? The pro, pro 4g, the pro plus, the 4g, the pro max.
Sadly Xiaomi isn't the darling it used to be on the value scale R5k for the regular note 13 isn't that cheap anymore.

Im still on my Note 10 Pro, what a steal it was. Will probably hang on to it for another year or two. I have it 2 years now. One thing I realized is that a 120hz screen is overrated, it loses its novelty after 5min of using it and takes a **** ton of battery. I also realized after the fact that higher MP's for a camera does not equal better quality.

Yup high MP doesn't mean it's a decent camera, I mean most of the Redmis can only record at 1080p.
