I'll be trying a R20 breakfast at a local restaurant on Sat morning with the game.

but the best place to have breakfast is KFC

ahh... nothing like oily fried chicken pieces and chips dipped in gravy to get one going in the morning

seriously, you need bacon, scrambled egg and sausage for breakfast.
(and don't tell me they do in fact have egg, because chicken + egg does not go well with each other (whether in a wrap or on a burger)

the chicken lays the egg, it does not get eaten on it.

How much is the Primi breakfast? It's a pity the Spur breakfast is so cheap, but a coffee costs R14.99

What South Africa needs is a Taco Bell. Nothing like a breakfast burrito. NOTHING!

I'm not sure if anyone has recommended it yet, but Ciao Baby does a pretty good breakfast buffet over the weekend for ~ R60. I've been to the one at Bedford Square (haven't been there in a while, so not sure if it's still there) and at MonteCasino.

Cuppachino's in Greenstone Mall is also decent, and reasonably priced.

The Chef and the Fatman has a really good buffet breakfast for about R45 along Witkoppen between JHB North and Witkoppen.

Anyone know of good breakfast spots in the Suninghill, Rivonia area? I'm starving so must be a decent sized breakfast none of these R20 specials. :p

Spur has a decent special. I never do wimpy. Mug and bean is also decent. Best however I would split between Chef and the Fatman buffet or the Ciao Baby Cuccino at clear water breakfast buffet. A bit more pricey but very nice.

If you are willing to drive a little go down Witkoppen past fourways. Just after JHB North dip as you go up the hill there is a white wall on the right with Chef and the Fatman on it. Try them, they have a decent breakfast buffet.

So much Wimpy hatred. Anyone have an actual sensible reason or is it just a snob thing?

I'll take a Wimpy breaky any day - thank you. Primi Piatti also makes some good breakfasts. Greenfields in Centurion used to make a killer eggs Benedict - pity they closed down.

Wimpy food is just bland. No taste. Like it was designed to offend no one. The height of political correctness.

Spur has a pretty nice breakfast (much better & cheaper than wimpy) if you looking for a chain/franchise outlet.

Otherwise look at your small local businesses, yonks ago there was a place in Salt Rock called Hagars (bakery) and they made the best breakfast ever.
