Recommended Web Design Software

Hi all, i'm looking for web design software which costs in the region of R500 - R1500. I have above average HTML knowledge. I used Net objects Fusion is the past, but had issues with backups and bugs. Ive tried coffee cup visual site designer which is far too basic. Any recommendations? Thanks

If you have good HTML knowledge then why not just use notepad ++, it is free. If you need a WYSISWG program then look at Dreamweaver or Microsoft Expression web. But i would really recommend using something like notepad to learn more.

netbeans is pretty cool with built in php support and subversion otherwise notepad

+1(notepad++) also pspad is also very good. i find these wysiwyg editors very frustrating (but hey thats just me)

In my opinion Serif Webplus is really aimed at the home user that might want to put together a very basic site for friends and family etc. I have seen a number of sites designed with it and they pretty horrible.

Take a look at www.holton.co.za - they are the distributors of Serif Webplus and they deigned their site using it. Not very appealing!

I i suggested, rather use something like notepad ++, read some online tutorials (there are hundreds of god ones) about XHTML and CSS, and you will be much better off.

Most of the other so called web dev software add in so much extra rubbish that clogs up your site and slows things down. Granted there are cases when dreamweaver etc are useful. But most of the time you can get away with NP++
