Done. Worst part of these portals is asking you to fill in their specific form fields in their format. ie, add your education and experience in separate sections.

I have a cv, I have a linkedin profile - don't make me rewrite the entire thing on your site.

Parvana is a Persian (not Indian) word for 'butterfly'.
No symbolism... just we wanted a name that didn't mean anything
We are not connected to My BB.

We are a specialist IT recruitment company with clients that are mainly software dev houses, software services... any company where IT is the main backbone of the business (rather than a cost centre). We don't have many corporates as clients.

I am an ex-dev myself but still keep my hand in, albeit at a superficial level. The languages I used are mostly not around. I suppose I wasn't the best dev because I got 'promoted' into more customer-facing roles and at one point was responsible for a significant software dev company. I exited big companies 8 years back to focus on our own business. Either way, I do believe we understand the frustrations of devs better than most recruitment houses. However, we have room for improvement. A lot of room.

The survey detail, I will discuss once it is over.

However, what has been very useful is the industry-wide constructive comments made by many of the respondents.
Most of the improvements needed we instinctively knew, but in some cases have not been aggressive enough in implementing.
The survey has energised us to improve mainly where devs have pet peeves (and valid ones and that)

So thanks to all respondents. We want to improve and provide want devs really want.

Thanks for responding. It would be best of you responded on the email we sent... but either will do.

If we had your email address then it means we processed your CV for an application in the last 6 years (maybe more) or so. If you want to find out which application, please reply to that email.

I am not surprised if you don't remember.
We need to improve in maintaining a connection with applicants.

Yep, Linkedin, CV, recruitment portal, recruitment company... I am not surprised you get peeved.

I will review our company's standard questions and try and trim them a bit.

The education question being repeated is contentious because it is surprising how many times the applicant's answers are at odds with his CV. The most obvious reason for this is when an applicant does not indicate that a degree is not complete. This will always bite him downstream if we don't pick it up before the CV goes out.

Ah yes... you guys were a black hole, like many others... Send CV, apply.. hear nothing. That's why I don't remember.
In any case I don't use recruiters anymore, for this one key reason.
Especially more so when Nigel Frank will onsell personal info to the extent where I now have to sort out that Woolworths account an identity thief has managed to open in my name. (The e-mail addresses used was one I specifically created for Nigel Frank, and therefore they are busted!)
