That's great news, I've requested an upgrade via 084 145 to a straight-up 400. Apparently my number was flagged as "hot" - which was explained to me as maybe I missed a payment or something (which I haven't - maybe it's coz I complain a lot?)

Haven't heard anything since though - so no idea where I stand on whether my upgrade was successful or not...

Edit: forgot to say that the upgrade request was done on Weds morning

Not to seem like I'm saying "I told you so" - but we're now almost a week later since I requested my upgrade - and I'm none the wiser....

Your guys have contacted me - I wish to clarify, for the benefit of all the forum readers, that the process is not straight forward, nor does it take a couple minutes.

I have to go buy a prepaid SIM, because in order to port from RBM back to Cell C apparently I can't use the same SIM. You guys can't just deliver me a SIM with the handset because you can't process my upgrade until I move off the current SIM.

In fact, this is almost exactly the same thing that happened 2 years ago when I ported to Cell C - I had high hopes that you'd learnt from past mistakes.

Hello Peter

On Hello peter Red Bull has responded saying there is a nokia 610 and Nexus available to upgrade to. I'm assuming it's the old nexus and not the the new LG one?

I hate todo this but I am really upset about the poor service from CellC, I have been into a store on Tuesday morning to cancel my Redbull contract, having paid the outstanding amount in full and filling in the cancellation form instore. It is now Friday and I am told this is only going to be converted to prepaid at the end of this month. If this is the case then I want my money back and I am never taking out another CellC contract again, this was supposed to take 24-48 hours to convert to prepaid. :mad:

I just called 084145 and asked to speak to a supervisor, wow he was rude, he kept speaking fast when I was explaining to him my issues nor would he answer my questions directly instead gave me by the close of business today it should be done, then when I ask if I can go to a store on Saturday and take out a new one he cannot confirm, instead he reverts to oh I have other people to deal with besides you so here is your reference number !

I have canceled my RBM on Sat. Did the cancellation form as well. In the shop they told me it will be converted to prepaid by beginning of April, when my contract expires. Hope i won't have any problems.

Hi

I managed to upgrade my RBM 200 contract recently. Went for the Samsung s2. Although it is a bit old, it's much better than the old Motorola MB525. It did take a bit of getting right to do the upgrade but it worked.

The info around the future of the RBM contract is so unreliable and inconsistent that I've decided not to continue with my two contracts once they're up for renewal in April.

In store the consultant told me that CellC is not interested in RBM and they will not have or introduce any relatively new phones on it. Which makes sense. Firstly was August for a new phones, then Nov, then Feb. It is just a joke and obviously CellC is not interested in supporting or renewing those contracts. This is why I've cancelled it. I don't want to give my money to someone who is very clear that does not want them.

I am due for an upgrade as well. I would be happy if I can upgrade to the Galaxy Nexus. Can you confirm if it is still available?

Thanks, but do you know what are they waiting for if you don't mind me asking? Perhaps for 730 to come out? Until they decide to be or not to be the device will be old by that time. It is available in Europe at least for a month now.
