What do you guys think about red oxide or vanadium flow batteries for solar thinking of importing some of them, aparently their DOD is 100% everyday for 20 years and that a 5kw battery bank will give you 30kwh
Of course this alone doesn't mean they suck, I mean if I could get batteries that last almost forever at 1/10th the price of lead acid (Just a made up example not actual numbers) then I'd happily take a 20% efficiency hit - Could more than make that up by spending the extra money on more panels or wind turbines and end up with an overall better system still.I think their efficiency is also quite low, something like 70%.
Did you get a price?thinking of importing some of them
Its imergy vanaduin redox batteries and the have 5kw units that gives you 30kwh at 100% DOD and 20 year guarantee, but they are expensive something like 200k, if I import its most probably going to be around 120k
