Dear Vodacom...

Seriously.... I get a 5gig a month allowance on my contract - now - please note - I have been out of the country - and I landed in the country 6 hours ago... having not been here for well more than a month....

Can you please explain this:

Recurring monthly 4.12GB 30 Nov 2017

Considering - in those 6 hours - I was busy for an hour of it - I was driving for 2 and a half hours of it - and had google maps on for a short while and watched maybe 30 minutes of youtube. Have not downloaded anything - all my apps were up to date before I landed - so - can someone explain to how 5.9gig of data disappears in the space for 6 hours with no usage?

What's your phone data usage monitor say is using data?

Compare data used on phone vs what you've been billed for?

Seriously?

If you need Vodacom to explain it for you then you've already lost. Do you not have a means of precisely monitoring your usage on your phone?

They won't bat an eyelid unless you have reasonable proof you didn't use the data. For all you know, something like Google Photos backed up a huge number of pics once roaming restrictions weren't preventing it from doing so.

Just what I was wondering. Surely the handset will give you some idea of the data usage?

Doff question, but it wasn't perhaps that your apps are set to auto-update? I had 2 GB disappear in no time because tablets were auto updating when they connected. Perhaps it is this.
