Redmi 9A launches in South Africa for R1,999

Xiaomi has launched two new entry-level Redmi 9 smartphones in South Africa.

The company said the Redmi 9 and Redmi 9A feature powerful chipsets and premium features, and represent Xiaomi’s mission to make exceptional smartphone experiences accessible to everyone.

According to Xiaomi, the Redmi 9 is the first entry-level smartphone to offer an all-purpose quad-camera.

Got my mum the 8A.

very good phone for the price, slightly more than the 9A.

However 8A has a SnapDragon soc which I prefer.

I've got the 16GB version.
Even if this phone had 2GB RAM I would still struggle. Xiaomi seriously need to reconsider their specs for these budget phones.
It's 2020. There's not many people left that won't complain and know that their phones run sht.

Have some weird bug where the screen just freezes and you need to switch it off and on again to get it to work.
