If you patched your UT3 to patch 1.3
Took off read only before copying the whole folder to Steam\steamapps\Common\Unreal Tournament 3

The install should go to 95% quickly. After that it's about 400megs download

Unreal Tournament 3 to me looked gorgeous, but it was terribly buggy, kept crashing for me, both on XP and Vista. From reasearching the errors I got, I'm certainally not alone, it appears to be a common thing. I stopped playing the game because of it, I don't have the time to sit and struggle like that.

Pity though, because like I said it looked gorgeous, and has great surround sound.

The 'update' was around 600mb, thought it could be that it was fixing something it thought was broken. I launched UT3 and could not see anything immediately different.

I bought UT3 on Steam, never had a retail copy, only extra stuff I installed was the CPB3.
