Greed and corruption blocked cheaper data prices in South Africa

The release of essential radio frequency spectrum in South Africa has been delayed by greed and corruption, Finance Minister Tito Mboweni told the SABC.

According to SABC’s programme “The Watchdog”, the Minister said the corruption that had delayed the release of spectrum is an issue that government must still deal with.

Surprise surprise surprise !!!!
Who would have thought?
Can the cANCer just fukking implode now so this country can get on with being a country and not these morons personal piggy bank?

Would have been nice if the article devoted more to the headline than what is presented. I personally think it is corruption at ANC level. They want to see how much rent they can do extract. That means they'll insert a middleman to handle the transaction at huge fees. And I suspect the party can't agree who the benefactors must be.

I RTFA and found no reference to greed or corruption

Seems the delays are due to incompetence on behalf of ICASA and Government.
These days a greed and corruption motive is a requirement for any cadre to do any work, never mind their job.

Were there no arrests warrants issued if there really was corruption? No one behind bars? Or does this statement translates to: "Government is trying to get its share of the corruption, but still has to iron out the 'details'"?

Internet connectivity is a basic human right, and these fokkers (gov and private sector) just don't give a damn.

This would never have happened if the NP was still running the country

Wrong headline. It should be "Greed and corruption prevented FREEDOM IN SOUTH AFRICA AFTER 1994"

Until the majority decide they have enough of corruption and poverty and crime and poor health care and...... we the minorities must suffer with them.
Will they ever decide that?
