I am driving a car, which is in my sons name, license expired 30 June 2021.(Alberton) He tried several times to get license at post office, where they were offline.
So my problem is, I moved 1 July to Naboomspruit. My son send me via courier change of ownership, and the traffic department were closed due to covid 19, i asked a rep to do my car license, but traffic say, they can't do it in this province, I must first have it closed in gauteng, now with all the hassle and buzzle, my period has expired 21 st July. What will be the correct way to go and finalize this matter, without me going to Gauteng. Is there any other way.

You can only take out the licence in the province where the car is registered.
What you need to do to get the car on your name: Get a roadworthy, then go to the municipality or someone who does it for you like Traffline etc.

This post doesn't make any sense. You can sell and change ownership of a car in any province, it doesn't have to be in the province the car is currently registered in. I know many people from Gauteng who moved down to Cape Town and then sold their GP registered cars in Cape Town without any problem whatsoever.

I use FNB banking app to renew GP license from KZN. R200 courier cost plus the licensing fee.
