I'm working out a rough cost of renovations - so far I have :

R25k per bathroom average
R200/sqm paving
R1200/meter walling

Just wondering what a simple entertainment like this would cost?
Pretty much two plastered brick pillars with a proper ceiling for lights?
Is that generally a slab of cement at the top?

R25k per bathroom might be a bit conservative if you want really decent fittings and such...

I would also think you should look at r1800 per meter for a wall to be on the safe side.

That awning seems to be 2 pillars and then beams across to the house and between the pillars with a standard awning on top... You want a standard ceiling with down lights so will be more pricy than that, doesn't need to be a slab across but it will still be pricey... Pillars prob r2k to r3k each... The beams will be about r3k a piece so r9k... The awning I dunno tbh, but at least r30k

Rather build the pillar using maxi bricks, works out cheaper. For roofing, use corrugated iron (the stronger IBR sheet) instead of an expensive awning... I'm assuming you dont want the roof to open on suny days (hence the ceiling).
