Rental : Electricity (Network Charge, Service Charge)

For the renters, do you pay the network and service charge on your electricity as well?

I've got a friend who is in a little cottage on someone property (separate meter) and they're charging close to R800.00. When queried, it is because they're charging network and service, which alone R400.00 or so.

Also - if you have two meters on property, does EACH pay the network / service ?
What about prepaid ?
Sectional title have those costs?

Were they shown the actual bill? If not they should ask to see it and they're entitled to do so.

Sectional Title in South Africa gets billed as a single large consumer, therefore if there are additional charges for higher usage then they will be paying them. The individual owners won't see that though because the managing agents will receive the single bulk bill and split it up per unit.
