The local Avis office has three cars in the category I that falls in my company allowance - we get a special rate for ultra long rental periods.
1) Pontiac G6 (3.5L)
2) Subaru Inpreza 2.5i Premium
3) Chevy HHR

Number 3 is just to ugly, so it's a toss up between 1 and 2.

I've driven the G6 and it's really comfy and powerful, but I hear the Subaru is a sporty drive.

What would you chose?

The Subaru.

The US does not make cars, it makes boats on wheels.

Thanks.

My wife is keen on the G6, but I think I'll go and test drive the Impreza on Saturday.

Hmmmmmm... If I recall, the G6 shares its platform with the SAAB 9-3, so it might not be all bad. I'd be tempted by the opportunity to drive something 'different', although I suppose it is an everyday car across the pond.

All things considered, the Subaru would be the more logical choice.

If you want something comfortable, go for the G6, I've driven one and it's a nice cruiser. Easy to drive. Subaru is a lot sportier on the other hand.

My Impreza is super comfortable (I'm talking a Camry-style ride on the open road). I think that a US spec non-WRX/STI should be set up for cruising as well.

The G6 shares its platform with the Saab 9-3 iirc, but its dumbed down BIGTIME for the americans..

I'd take the Impreza ANY day of the week
