So far we listed it on PrivateProperty but only got replies from agencies. Has anyone had success renting out privately by listing on PrivateProperty? We are considering Airnbnb as well. Is it better to rent out or use Airbnb? Any recommendations for good estate agents we could use for rental/finding a tenant?

Join facebook community groups for the surrounding suburbs and advertise there. I've done all my rentals like this.

If you play your cards right you can make a small fortune with airbnb.
The owners on the farm I rent airbnb their main house when they are away. You can ask triple the amount per night a long term lessee would pay on average per night simply, because airbnb are holiday rentals mostly.
People are willing to pay more for a holiday away.
Only problem is you need to arrange the cleaning.
All depends how much effort you want to put into it. If hassle free is what you are looking for advertise online for long term renters.

Re airbnb: you would need to check the body corporate rules of your complex and also of your municipality to see if they allow short term lets in sectional title complexes. Cape Town by-laws, for example, don't allow this. No problem for a room in a flat in which you live, but not the whole flat. I think it is because of issues with security, noise etc.
