Caught some bad curb rash this weekend (twice) and need to have the rims repaired. They are not bent or anything just scratched. I found this place and was wondering if anyone had used them before or knew of another place / DIY skills to clean up the scratches

Thanks

Yeah his pricing is good, recently got 4 wheels sprayed satin black for around R500 per wheel. I think repair costs are about the same.
Give him a call, make a turn there and they can quote you. He has been in the business a long time and knows the game.

Magworkshop is very good, they mostly do supercar and luxury car wheels.

However I am not sure if they car refurb a diamond cut wheel, the process is quite detailed and normally people just spray the wheels after its been scratched.

Sounds like dollar, hopefully mine qualifies.

Do they get rid of built up tar etc. (not the usual road grime) or must I get rid of it first? Imagine they do it.

Can you recall pricing?

The topic refers to diamond cut refurbs so I was speaking to that issue, I'm not sure which issue you have?

I can't speak for magworkshop since I haven't been there in two years, but generally people quote around R1200-R1500 to prepare and spray four rims.

Refurbishing a diamond cut rim is around R1200 -R1800 per rim in Joburg so expect to pay the same if you do find a place in CT.

I'm referring to standard rim repair.

I wouldn't go to magworkshop for simple repair, theres a place opposite the GoodHope Center, it used to be by the Total Garage but I think they have their own place now just a few buildings down the road.

Cool, please do.

Please ask about standard rim repair pricing too? Same as you, some pavement rash (from the previous owner ).
