Report says Eskom paid R2 billion for fraudulent invoices

A preliminary forensic report has claimed that over R2 billion was stolen from Eskom through a network of ghost service suppliers and well-placed officials, according to City Press.

The money was allegedly funnelled via fraudulent transactions over the last three years, involving a number of companies invoicing Eskom for work that was never carried out.

The report was compiled by forensic investigators from Seekers Finders Forensic Auditors and Risk Services after a whistle-blower alleged that prominent Eskom employees were colluding with service providers to generate the fraudulent invoices.

There you go, get right into it, how the money is coming back would be interesting, and if one entity, why not more-?
-But this is just one angle of the corruption, later on how it gets embedded will be understood better, thats when the World will wake up properly=As long as we pay more that seems not the case. If money comes back, most people should feel an absolete relieve in how fatr their incomes go, then you know this type of corruption is handled, thsts the acid test to pass.

Whats interesting here is how SARS may have benefitted from these "Legit Transactions" on 1st glance, and how that is going to reverse again(To lock the whole operation), and how that fed back into the system and recirculate the same way till everything is depleted in an exponential spiral, I just wonder if the World has the capability yet to clamp this down properly 100%-?

Corruption on even the food items they buy...and they still want to raise prices. When will South Africans take a stand against this absolute nonsense?

You're being very selfish.

Eskom need to recoup their losses, you need to play your part!

Not going to happen. Not ever. SA has a very poor record of standing up to authority even when the numbers overwhelmingly favoured them.

Tshitangano is the same moron that has been crying racism against De Ruiter when these allegations surfaced. The usual go to trick these days.

What services are they referring to.
I would assume catering as they're talking about food? A power station costs 140 billion, so who the **** knows what they're talking about.

If eskom stops buying everyones groceries, they wouldn't have to borrow to build a new power station every year, or increase the price 500%.

MyBB error. He is quoted in other news as saying:

"We spend R140-billion buying goods and services. We are paying more than what we should be paying. R2-billion savings is not a lot, it's about 4% of R140-billion. That is exceptionally modest, but Solly has not delivered what was asked of him," De Ruyter said.

And then legitimate companies can never get invoices paid, took almost a year to get invoices paid for legitimate products delivered.
