I am currently working on a system that's going to manage different requests. These requests can range from change request to the management of defects and incidents. I wanna know how to go about logging this information and what is the most important things to log. I actually need the sites i can visit to find information of how to go about doing this.

Wow this is super vague.

Here's some stuff for you to read up on:
Software Architecture I suggest you read through all the different architecture's (sub links)
Multitier Architecture also known as Three Tier Architecture, (this one is very NB)

Don't you have some senior guy at work, who will design this "framework", and then help you implement the pieces?

Ditjhaba, is it S'ngangele Ditjhaba!

I'm completely understand what you're looking for, I'd advice that you get in touch with a guy by the name of Budha Letsaba, he's an investment banker at Investec and has a lot of experience in these matters.

You won't regret it!

Weird answers.....

Here is mine. You can look at the the issue tracker we use : called Mantis www.mantisbt.org

its customizable. The most important things to log has to come from current fault reporting forms or if not available, ask the eventual person who fixes the problem what he would need :)
